Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you use lecom.uk, why it is processed, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the information requirements of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR (Articles 13 and 14), and it also describes the choices available to California residents under the CCPA/CPRA.

1. Who is responsible for your data

lecom.uk is the data controller for the limited data described below. Contact:[email protected]. We are a small operator; we do not have a Data Protection Officer, and all privacy requests go to that address.

2. What we collect, and what we do not

3. Why we process it (legal bases)

4. Third parties

Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses as offered by the relevant provider.

5. Cookies and your choice

Strictly necessary cookies (hosting, security, and remembering your consent choice) are set without consent because the site cannot function without them. All other cookies — advertising and analytics — are set only after you press “Accept” in the banner. If you press “Reject”, no non-essential cookie is set and no advertising script is loaded. In this build no page-level advertising or analytics script is loaded at all; the banner records your choice so that any future loader can check it before running.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the keylecom-consent, with the value accept or reject. Nothing is sent to us.

Withdrawing or changing your choice

Use the “Cookie settings” control in the footer of any page to reopen the banner, then press “Reject”. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: the stored value is changed toreject and any non-essential script already loaded on the page is removed. You can reopen the banner as often as you like; the footer control is on every page.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal (navigator.globalPrivacyControl), we treat that as a binding opt-out. Non-essential processing is off, the “Accept” option is not offered, and a stored “accept” from an earlier visit is overwritten with reject — a browser-level opt-out is never overridden by an earlier click. You can still change your mind later by disabling the GPC signal in your browser; the banner will then offer both choices again.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to processing; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already happened.

Consent to non-essential cookies is withdrawn with the “Cookie settings” control in the footer, not by email — it takes effect immediately. The email address below is for the other rights in this section.

To exercise any of these, email[email protected]. We respond within 30 days. Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests will be answered by confirming that we hold nothing that identifies you beyond short-lived server logs. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK, or to your national supervisory authority in the EU.

7. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for money. Where advertising cookies are accepted, sharing with advertising partners for cross-context behavioural advertising may be treated as “sharing” under the CPRA; you can opt out by rejecting the cookie banner, by pressing “Cookie settings” in the footer and choosing “Reject”, or by sending a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honour by suppressing non-essential cookies and by refusing to offer “Accept”. You may also request access to or deletion of personal information by emailing the address above.

8. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. See the Children's Privacy page.

9. Retention and changes

Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short operational window and then discarded. Consent records live in your browser until you clear them. If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date above changes and the new version applies from that date.
