How to Play Citadel: Fortress Defense

Citadel: Fortress Defense runs on a daily rhythm: you build, and then the raid arrives. Ten kinds of structure can go up — walls, gates, houses and farms among them, along with sawmills, quarries, towers, barracks, a market and a mage tower — each costing wood, stone, gold or food gathered beforehand. What you built is what you defend with. You are the Lord, and knights, archers and mages can be hired and then taken over individually in the middle of a fight, which is unusual for a defence game — you can leave the overview and play a single soldier. Goblins, bandits, skeletons, shamans and enemy soldiers break through walls, and every fifth day a boss joins them. Each raid is stronger than the last, so renown goes into upgrades, higher stone walls and more land. It is single-player endless survival, and losing the town hall ends the run.
